IDEAL LOCATION
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Prado Basin (federal lands) in the City of Chino, San Bernardino County, California is an ideal location. The site is representative of a national tribute with its rolling hills; panoramic view of Chino Valley, majestic Mount Baldy and wetlands with a bird sanctuary and an eagle's nest; mild weather and even temperature, allowing for year around operation; and, adjoining Prado Regional Park providing additional recreational amenities of a 36-hole golf course and driving range, a lake for fishing and paddle boating, picnic areas, ball fields, Equestrian Center, Model Airplane Field, the former Los Angeles Olympics' Shooting and Archery Ranges, a recreational vehicle (RV) lot and more. It is centrally located, with the four counties of Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside converging at the site, allowing for more students to visit and learn, first hand, from and of the Native Americans; and of the prehistory of the United States of America.
Additionally, California has the largest representation of Native American Indians from over 200 tribes, the most reservations in the country with over 100 reservations and the largest contingent of Native Hawaiians living outside of Hawaii with over 40,000 Native Hawaiians.
Project Site Area Map
